He was 53 years old, his wife Sutapa Sikdar and sons, Babil and Ayan Khan being his survivors. His family needs all the strength to endure and live with the pain.

He was one of the finest actors that India had and it’s not only a loss for his family but for us all Indians and film lovers around the world. He went too soon, leaving us with a loss too big to fill. To think that we will no longer be able to see him on the large screen is too much to bear. He was natural and versatile. Mesmerizing to watch.

He debuted with the film Salaam Bombay in 1988 and continued his acting career for more than 30years. He received his first Filmfare award for the Best Villain for Haasil in 2003. However, Life in a…Metro in 2007 earned him his Filfare Award for Best Supporting Actor and was a game changer for his career. He went on to do many more films. He was not only a critically acclaimed actor but also a Commercially successful.

He has also worked in many international movies like, The Warrior in 2001, The Namesake in 2006, Slumdog Millionaire in 2008 which won the Academy Award, Life of Pi in 2012 and many more.

He will continue to live in our hearts!
