Introduction

YouTube is seeking a Product Manager to lead the development of new features and products from conception to launch. Our ideal candidate has a strong background in product management, business development or marketing within the technology industry. You must be able to not only understand user needs and develop solutions for them, but also be able to demonstrate how those solutions will create value for our company.

Responsibilities

It’s vital to define the problem before you start on a solution. If you’re going to get yourself fit, you need to know what fitness means to you. What are your goals? Do they change depending on the season or time of day? Is there anything else in your life that might affect them (like work, school or family)?

Once you have a clear picture of what it is that will make you feel great about yourself and get excited about working out, then comes the hard part: setting realistic short-term goals so that success feels achievable. It’s easy to let ambition get the best of us—trying too much too soon can make us feel overwhelmed when we inevitably fail at our first attempts at exercise or dieting. Instead, start small by targeting one goal per month and slowly ramp up from there.

Don’t worry about how many other people around you also have fitness-related resolutions! It doesn’t matter if everyone else has decided they want become marathon runners this year; all that matters is what works best for YOU!

A product vision statement is a broad summary of what your product will accomplish. It should be written at a high level, but it should also be specific enough that everyone in your organization understands exactly how they contribute to the vision. A well-articulated product vision will provide focus for your team and make decision-making easier by establishing clear goals for each team member. It’s important to communicate this idea to all stakeholders so that there’s no doubt about what you’re trying to achieve together with your product.

For example:

“Our goal is for our users to have an easy time finding answers about their favorite celebrities.” (This could also include a subgoal: “We want our users’ questions answered quickly and accurately.”)

It’s critical to coordinate with other teams across Google (engineering, sales, marketing, legal etc.) to ensure a successful product launch. You’ll need to make sure that everyone on your team is aligned on the goals and objectives of your launch so that you can achieve them in a timely manner.

You should also communicate frequently with these other teams so they know what you’re working on, have input into decisions that may impact them directly or indirectly, and can work together with you toward solving any issues as they arise.

Finally—and this is probably most important—you’ll need to establish open lines of communication between yourself and individual members of each organization involved in launching your product before it launches for real so that everyone has time to prepare for its release
